Trinomics is an independent international consultancy firm that provides research and advisory services in the fields of energy, environment, climate change and sustainability, mostly using economic tools and methods. We offer our knowledge and expertise to develop sustainable solutions to today’s main socio-economic challenges on a local, regional, national and international level. We aim to contribute to better European and international policy-making by providing in-depth research to our public sector clients (such as the European Commission, the European Parliament, the World Bank, national governments, etc.) that analyses the relevant policy issues at stake and their potential consequences.
What are we looking for?
We are on a continuous basis looking for (economics) master-students with an interest in energy environment and climate policies that can assist us on our daily work on conducing or acquiring assignments for the variety of clients that we work for. That means that you will be working with us to advise policy-makers on for example the most cost-efficient design of sustainability policies or understanding the economic, social and environmental impacts of upcoming legislation.
What do we offer?
You will gain hands-on experience with working in consultancy that conducts research and provides advice on important and extremely relevant challenges and opportunities for our society. You will be hosted and warmly welcomed in an informal working environment, where you can an quickly get a lot of responsibility. We all get our own coffee and tea and anyway avoid copying altogether (not sustainable), so you will be directly contributing to important project work as a full-fledged member of projects teams.
What skills and experience do we require?
This work demands excellent analytical skills and writing skills, a strong interest in energy, environment and/or climate change topics, an eye for detail and the willingness to go the extra mile when necessary. Fluency in English is required knowledge of Dutch and/or another language is an advantage. Moreover, the candidate should also have at least some of the following skills:
- Quantitative analytical capacities – including experience with Stata, EViews, Excel (advanced) or SPSS for example for the support of econometric or data-heavy analyses;
- Developed qualitative research skills, for example for (the support of) literature research;
- Commercial flair – for example for supporting our business development and acquisition processes;
Good communication skills – for flexibly working in a team or organising and conducting interviews for ongoing projects
