AEclipse is looking for new committee members!
1 September, 2015 - 27 September, 2015
Make the most of your masters at the ESE
Your masters studies are a special phase in your university career. For most of you, your life as a student is drawing to a close and you are starting to move towards the job market. Finding a balance between finishing your student life on a high note and preparing yourself for your future career is a momentous task. We at AEclipse can offer you a perfect opportunity to aid you in this process: become active as part of the International Research Project (IRP), the Business Cycle Tour (BCT) or the Economist Day Committee 2015/2016!
The IRP Committee
One of AEclipse’s most prestigious events, the International Research Project (IRP) represents a perfect mix of social, academic and professional activities all packed into a two week study trip in a developing country. The IRP is also uniquely integrated with the Seminar Trade & Growth, emphasizing the link between theory and practice. We are looking for ambitious students who are interested in travelling and developing their organizational skill-set. For IRP specifically, we are looking for masters students with an interest in economic development who plan to take part in the Trade & Growth seminar.
The BCT Committee
In the BCT, students visit a country that is interesting because of its position in the world economy. The purpose of this trip is to become familiar with the local business culture and to make a comparison with your own culture. As part of the BCT committee, you will be choosing a destination, arranging tickets and overnight stay, designing a program for the trip that includes both business as well as cultural activities, organizing in-house days, promoting the trip and selecting ambitious candidates. Moreover, the committee members are partly responsible for finding sponsors and budgeting the costs.
The ED Committee
Throughout the year AEclipse will host three Economist Days with Studium Generale at the Erasmus University. As committee members you will get the opportunity to meet professors from around the world and experts in numerous fields. Ultimately you will set up debates concerning subjects of your liking, from current news events to specific economic models. The committee offers you the freedom and responsibility to create educational events and will test your organisational skills.
Challenge yourself, develop your skills
Organizing these exciting projects is a great test of your practical and organizational skills, and committee work is highly regarded by employers. Challenge yourself and go that extra step further during your master studies at the ESE. As a committee member you have true responsibility and influence in every step of the planning process.
Being a committee member at Aeclipse is a serious responsibility, and we expect strong drive and a serious commitment. Both the IRP and BCT committees have a weekly workload of 4-6 hours, which is expected to peak to 8-10 hours right before departure.
We are looking for motivated students who are interested in travelling and developing their organizational skill set. For IRP specifically, we are looking for masters students with an interest in economic development who plan to take part in the Trade & Growth seminar.
Not a masters student at the Department of General Economics? No worries, you can still apply! Note that some additional requirements may apply for such students.
